Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our service.

  • Account info: email address, display name, and avatar from your Google account
  • CV data: resume content you create and save on the platform
  • Usage data: feature usage counts for plan limits (e.g. PDF exports, AI optimizations per month)
  • Payment info: processed securely by Stripe — we never store your card details

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to operate Jikan and deliver the features you expect.

  • Authenticate you and manage your account
  • Store and sync your CVs across devices
  • Generate PDFs and AI-optimized CV variants
  • Enforce plan-based usage limits

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global infrastructure (D1 database and R2 storage), protected by encryption at rest and in transit.

Authentication tokens are stored as secure, HTTP-only cookies with SameSite protection. We use industry-standard JWT tokens for session management.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Stripe — for payment processing (only if you subscribe to a paid plan)
  • Google — for OAuth authentication (only your public profile info)
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — CV content is sent for AI optimization when you use this feature

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie for authentication (session token). We also store your theme preference and language in localStorage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • View and export your CV data at any time via the JSON editor
  • Delete individual CVs from your account
  • Delete your account and all data permanently from your profile page
  • Use the service without an account (guest mode with local storage only)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
